Automize is the flagship product of HiTek Software, US-based company founded in 1999, that comes up with multi-platform automation software and aims to achieve the goal of creating affordable, high level automation software products for small and large business. Get Automize and you will be able to schedule all sorts of tasks to occur automatically.

Speaking about getting Automize, the download weighs in at close to 40MB – depending on your connection speed, it may take a bit of time for the download to complete; not long on a high-speed connection though. To install the application, you need only click through the steps presented by a setup wizard. Automize is a cross-platform tool, meaning that it runs on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and other UNIX-based platforms.

The first time you run Automize, you will be asked to pick one of the three editions: Standard (provides automation features suitable for most users), Professional (adds advanced scripting), and Enterprise (SSH, SFtp and encryption module, command line module, remote access web browser module). Don’t worry too much about which version to choose; you can switch between them at a later time. Worry about which version to choose after you put the trial to the test, when you purchase a license.

Automize’s interface is easy enough to figure out. The Menu’s and shortcuts are at the top, the tasks and schedules are on the left hand side, and a preview window for the aforementioned tasks and schedules is to the right hand side. To create a new task, you need only click the New Task button. You will then be presented with a long list of task types, and under each type there are various tasks. You can set it up so that a program will be run, the computer will be shutdown, or a message will be displayed at a certain time. You can, for example, set it up so that your computer will display a message every day at 1PM.

Please note that the examples presented above are just a few examples of Automize’s automation capabilities. The application can automatically run applications and scripts, run RFC FTP commands, download data from the web, send email notifications, ping a server, monitor websites and download modified pages, print files, display alarms and reminders, and more.

You have 30 days at your disposal to uncover all of Automize’s features and see if the functionality it has to offer is worth your money. Once the evaluation period is over, you have to get a license for one of the three Automize editions the developer has to offer: Standard, Professional, and Enterprise.

Don’t waste time by doing everything yourself. Let Automize, an easy to use and powerful automation tool, do part of the work for you.

Pros

Cross-platform application that works on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and other UNIX platforms. Simple and easy to use interface. Schedule all sorts of tasks to take place automatically: launch an application, display a message, run a script. There are three Automize editions to choose from; the trial version lets you switch from one edition to another.

Cons

Free to try for a 30-day evaluation period.
